Ministries are the activities at our church for Worship, Fellowship, and Outreach. To participate in any one of these, the only requirement is simply to show up! If you want to be a part of the choir, just walk up and open a songbook... If you want to attend an event and need more info, email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. It's that simple! We want members and visitors to know they are welcome to join in on any of these ministry opportunities at Pleasant Grove!

We have classes available for all ages for Sunday School at 10am and Discipleship Training at 5pm before our Worship Services begin. Classes are based on age and are a great way to get to know other church-goers. Our goal for these classes is to learn more about God's Word, apply it to our lives, and learn how to spread the Gospel to others. If you're not sure where to go to find your class, there's always someone in the Sanctuary to point you in the right direction!
AWANA helps churches and parents work together to develop spiritually strong children and youth who faithfully follow Jesus Christ! Our AWANAS meet on Wednesday nights at 7pm to study and memorize God's Word in a fun-filled environment with an awesome rewards system for each participating child! The AWANA program coincides with the school year, but your child can join in at any time and participate at his/her own pace of learning.
Our Youth are on fire for God! If you have a child in grades 7th through 12th, they are invited to join the Youth Group at Pleasant Grove for bible study on Wednesday Nights, Sunday School at 10am & Discipleship Training at 5pm. Feel free to connect with our Youth Pastor, Ryan Kirkland, to find out what events are upcoming for fellowship and outreach, too! (The Youth meet for class in the trailer on the right side of the church building.)
VBS at Pleasant Grove is a major event for our community! For several years in a row, we've averaged over 300 in attendance EVERY night! VBS connects kids to God, creates change in their hearts, and gives them the opportunities to share God's love with others! Not to mention, we usually wrap things up on the last night with a 20-foot-long banana split! We have classes for all ages, including nursery and adults. Supper is served each night and the church buses can pick anyone up in our community that would like to attend. Make your family plans to include VBS this summer at Pleasant Grove!
The mission of our Brotherhood is to establish a unity among the Brothers in Christ, also to be Godly examples and helpers to younger generations of boys and young men, and to help and serve each other and the members of our church and community who are in need of moral, physical, or spiritual support.
WMU is an opportunity for our women to fellowship and serve in Missions and Outeach. WMU focuses on connecting with ladies that are making a difference for the kingdom work of Christ through living a missional lifestyle. WMU's major missions at Pleasant Grove are our annual work through the Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child, Annie Armstrong Easter Offering and Lottie Moon Offering.
Every Sunday morning, the children at Pleasant Grove come rushing forward with tiny fists full of pennies and dollars to drop into the "Little White Church" offering. By the end of the year, we're able to help children in need from our community during the Christmas holidays. It is a blessing to see God turn those pennies into prizes for those families who need it!
If you can sing (or even if you wish you could), you're welcome to join the choir! For Sundays, all you need to do is go up and take a book and join in. For Easter and Christmas productions, we require a commitment to practice! Other than that, we do have Choir practices that we encourage regular choir members to attend. If you would like to do a solo with your own special music, let someone know and they'll point you in the right direction to get you scheduled. Also in the way of singing, each Christmas season, the ladies assemble fruit baskets and go caroling to the elderly and shut-ins to bring a little Christmas joy their way!
Each year (usually in the month of June) the men and women of Pleasant Grove are invited to join the Chilton Baptist Builders in a week-long mission trip to help  build a Church for another! Words can't begin to express the blessings of this group of dedicated believers coming together in their time and talents for the glory of God! Calling all kids who have completed 3rd - 6th grades! The Chilton Baptist Association Kids Camp is a fun-filled week for children to learn about Jesus while having a ton of fun on the lake, slides, and ropes course. Your child will learn that being a Christian can be as exciting, challenging, and rewarding as the activities they'll be partipating in during camp. For more information, click here.
We still go "visiting" at Pleasant Grove - which simply means that if there are friends and families on the hearts of our members that we haven't seen in a while, we get together on Thursday evenings to go and visit with them and let them know they are missed! If you're missing someone that hasn't been to church in a while (or doesn't come at all) then get with Pat Samya to talk about meeting up for a visitation night!
We honor and appreciate the men and women who serve our country... especially those that are our very own friends and family! We like to send a few care packages "from home" to show our love and the love of Jesus during this difficult time of service. A list of items that can be included in the mailing can be found in the bulletin or by asking Cathy Connor. You can also donate money for the cost of purchasing those items or for the postage for shipping. Help show some love for these guys that are sacrificing so much for our freedom!
We are proud participants of the Relay for Life initiative in Chilton County because so many of us have been directly affected by cancer. We ALL have a friend or family member who has faced this dreadful disease and we want to help in finding a cure! We have a Relay for Life team that plans fund-raising and special recognition events. For more information, see Jada Smith.
The Cooperative Program is Southern Baptists’ unified plan of giving through which cooperating Southern Baptist churches give a percentage of their undesignated receipts in support of their respective state convention and the Southern Baptist Convention missions and ministries. Supporting the Cooperative Program allows our church to accomplish Acts 1:8 by reaching out to our community, our state, North America and the Nations with the Gospel of Jesus Christ consistently, concurrently, and completely.
